"Aderans institute report their progress on hair cloning"

Scientists at the Aderans institute have developed a system for rapidly and reproducibly generating hair follicles from dissociated epithelial and mesenchymal cells. Scientists described proecss of hair follicles formation from the dissociated cells that are injected into the skin (skin of the adult mouse was used in this preliminary study). It was shown that the process of hair formation involves the aggregation of epithelial cells to form clusters that are sculpted into "infundibular cysts". Hair germs arrise from these "infundibular cysts". Hair germs give rise to cycling mature hair follicles. 
Proposed mechanism of hair follicle formation from
dissociated cells It was estimated that about 5000 dermal cells and 2500 epidermal cells are required to form one new formed follicle. 
New hair follicles formed from dissociated epidermal and dermal cells
During the next step, scientists at the Aderans institute would test ability of human hair cells to form new hair follicle in similar biological system

Hello: I am also very interested in hair cloning. As an adolescent, I had a hormonal disorder, polycystic ovary syndrome, that resulted in permanent hair loss. I have less than half the density I once had and am hoping to regain hair density. Can you tell me any information that would prove useful? Thanks so much for your help!! Valerie |

Like everyone here I too am extremely interested in this new procedure, and I would love to take part. I am 20 and have been losing my hair now for 2-3 years, I think I will be bald by about 23/24, so not long left. Would I be useful to your studies?
